Gujarat has seen one of the largest seizures in the world as the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence or DRI confiscated about 2,988.22 kg of heroin in two containers. This has been recovered in the Mundra airport in Gujarat. Most of the officials are shocked at the amount of heroin that was being smuggled within the country.
Two people have already been arrested for this. It is suspected that some of the Afghan nationals might be responsible for the smuggling of heroin throughout the country. The sheer amount of heroin seized in Gujarat has surprised the entire nation. Such a feat had never been witnessed before!
DRI Receives Tip About The Heroin Seized In Gujarat
The breakthrough in the case had been received because of a special tip-off. The tip included information about the consignment which was being shipped by the Aashi Trading Company. This company is very well-known for the production of semi-processed talc stones which have their origins in Afghanistan. It was strongly suspected by DRI that the consignment might be containing narcotic drugs.

The agency had been able to intercept two containers that contained the heroin seized in Gujarat. The experts had checked the containers on the scene and found traces of heroin in them. The huge contraband was finally seized by the team in the Mundra airport itself.
