After a long spell of the coronavirus, the total number of covid-19 cases seems to be decreasing in Maharashtra. Maharashtra has been one of the worst affected states in the country and has also served as one of the main centers for the second wave of the pandemic. Finally, some positive news has come forth. No covid deaths in Mumbai have been recorded on 17th October 2021. This has been the very first instance since the spread of infection in 2020. Mumbai is the financial capital of India and there had been severe effects of the pandemic in the city. Mumbai had also been one of the worst affected cities all over the world as well. 367 cases had been registered on 17th October. However, no deaths had been reported.

The Positivity And Recovery Rate In Maharashtra
The positivity rate of infection has dropped down to 1.27%. The rate of recovery in Maharashtra is quite high as well. This has been a victory for the state’s government and the health officials. The recovery date has been recorded at 97% for now. This can be a hopeful sign that the situation in Maharashtra might be changing for good. No active containment zone had been existing in the city. However, 50 buildings were being used for the purpose of quarantine. They have been sealed as well. The fact that there have been no new covid deaths in Mumbai has helped to encourage the people to be even safer. It is expected that the infection can be contained with proper precautions.
Gradual Improvement
The condition of Maharashtra is improving gradually. The 50 buildings that had been sealed till now will be opened up soon.
