Union Minister Ajay Mishra’s son, Ashish Mishra had been arrested by the police in regards to his involvement in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident. He had been accused of running over the protesting farmers in the Lakhimpur Kheri district with his SUV, causing the death of 4 farmers. He had been transferred to a hospital from jail recently in order to receive treatment. A panel of doctors has confirmed that he had contracted dengue when he was in jail and had to be moved to the hospital for further treatment. He will be treated by a special panel of doctors. This has already raised questions about special treatment to the son of the minister in the jail.

It has been informed by the doctors that Ashish Mishra has diabetes along with dengue. He had already been suffering from diabetes and had to receive some extra medication for the same. The incident in which Ashish Mishra was involved included the death of eight people. The farmers of Lakhimpur Kheri were said to be protesting in front of the minister’s cars. The two SUVs which were present on the spot ran over four farmers and had Ashish Mishra in one of them. It had been accused that he was the one who ordered the drivers to run over the farmers. The union minister had initially denied the presence of his son in the car. With the probe of the Supreme Court, the man was arrested a few days ago.

Denial Of Charges By The Minister’s Son
Thirteen people along with Ashish Mishra have been arrested till now in the case. He is still denying his presence at the crime scene. With further investigation, it will be clear whether he was actually involved in the case or not. For now, he has been shifted to the hospital in order to receive treatment for a dengue infection that he had contracted in jail.
