Congress has announced that the march to the Lakhimpur Kheri district of UP in protest of the killing of farmers has started. Eight people had been killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri district a few days ago when the farmers were protesting on the street about the arrival of a Union Minister into the village.
Four of the people who have been killed in the protest were farmers. It has been accused that the SUVs ran over the four farmers, hence causing their death. The images and videos have horrified everyone in the country.
The Preparations Made By Congress For The Event
The march to Lakhimpur Kheri district has been announced by Navjot Singh Sidhu. It has to be noted here that Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Chattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel have announced that the families of the deceased will receive 50 lakhs INR each as compensation. A five-member delegation team of Congress has also left their province and reached Lucknow in order to meet with the families of the farmers. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has already been arrested by the police of Uttar Pradesh while she was on her way to visit the Lakhimpur Kheri district. Each of these events has indicated a special role of congress in protesting against this incident.
