Yati Narasinghanand, the head of the Dasna temple of Ghaziabad was arrested on Saturday. He was involved in Haridwar hate speech. Yati was arrested in association with three day Haridwar Dharam Sansad conclave whereby a series of hate speech was directed targeting minority communities.
Yati Narasinghanand was arrested from Sarvanand Ghat where he was on a hunger strike to protest the arrest of Jintedra Narayan Tyagi, his associate and another accused in the case. Soon after the arrest was made, Yati priest’s followers had gathered in crowds and mobs outside the police station. They also stopped the ambulance taking the accused for the medical check-up. Later the police had to use force to disperse them.
Reasons Behind Dasna Yati Priest’s Arrest
This is the second arrest made over hate speech in the Dharam Sansad case. Hate speeches against minority communities have been delivered. Hence Yati Narashinganand has been arrested in connection with Dharam Sansad’s Haridwar hate speech.
On December 22, the FIR case on Dharam Sansad was lodged. He was also charged under the 153A section of the Indian Penal Code which stands for promoting enmity between different religious groups and acts prejudicial to harmony among groups.
He has also been accused on January 13, of making unreasonable remarks on women from other communities on social media. Cases have been lodged on him insulting the modesty of women. His deeds have been pertaining to creating dis-contempt and intended to outrage religious sentiments.

Yati was involved in Haridwar hate speech and has been arrested with his associates by targeting minority groups and has also been charged under various sections also.
