Delhi Government Summons Central Govt. To Discuss Pollution In Delhi

The Delhi government has taken up a very serious issue with the central government about the issue of burning crops around the national capital. The air of Delhi has already deteriorated so much that it is impossible to breathe properly. In fact, Delhi is considered among the most polluted cities all around the world. This has called for an emergency meeting by the state government in order to tackle the issue. With the winter setting in, there is a major chance that Delhi will again be covered in smog. This has also called for the inclusion of other states in the meeting to deal with the increasing problem of air pollution.

The Delhi government has acknowledged that the air quality index or AQI had stood at 437 in the early morning hours of 8 am. This is quite concerning for the capital of the nation. The incidents of burning of crop residue in the borders of Delhi and the adjoining states are causing greater damage for the city as well.

The smoke from the burning of residual crops is going to cause severe harm to the air surrounding the national capital. Many have complained about runny eyes in the extremely smoky city. There are other kinds of respiratory issues which are arising quite rapidly for people residing in Delhi as well.

The Issue Of Parali Burning

Strangely enough, there have been statements which have mentioned that the effect of burning crackers during Diwali is reducing. The government of Delhi has mentioned that the effect of burning crops in the Haryana and Punjab areas are causing major damage in the air of Delhi. This process of burning residual crops is known as parali burning. It is a common practice in the north western states of India.
