Indian politics continue to be in a state of turmoil as the farmers collect outside the parliament every day to protest against the Farm Bills. It was announced by the Kisan Morcha that they have taken up the resolution to protest against the three Farm Bills which are to be passed in the Monsoon session. The Kisan Morcha has also asked the opposition MPs to raise their voices in support of farmers’ protests and against these bills in the Parliament.

Events In The Farmers’ Protests

It has also been announced that the farmers will be conducting a protest on 8th July against the rising prices of fuel in the country. Both petrol and diesel prices have reached three-digit values in the last month and it has become almost impossible for the common man to buy them for his everyday needs. More than 40 farmers’ organizations have been working under the banner of Kisan Morcha and it is expected that they will achieve their needs through the farmers’ protests.

Why Are Farm Bills Concerning?

The Farm Bills will eradicate the presence of the smaller farmers in the Indian economy because of the introduction of a third-person mediator. This must be stopped at all costs in order to preserve the smaller markets of the country. India is an agriculture-based country. What will happen if the small farmers are deprived of their source of income?
