The Lawsuit Made By Former President Donald Trump

The three companies removed former president Donald Trump from their respective platforms since they expected the man to incite more violence in the deadly Capitol riot on 6th January. Their concerns had been based on the previous comments made by Trump in violent situations.

The lawsuits have alleged certain censorship issues and that the social media companies have violated the very first amendment. The first amendment is applicable only for the government but not for private companies like social media websites. As a result, they cannot remove posts that have been rejected by courts across the country.

Statements By Experts

It has been mentioned by Paul Barrett, the deputy director of the NY center for business and Human rights, that the lawsuit made by Trump has no basis. The first amendment has never prevented private companies from moderating content that should not be on social media sites. He has also mentioned that Facebook and Twitter have arrived at the first amendment since they are social media platforms that explain the explicit views of people. They have the right to remove the posts which can cause violence among the other users, away from the virtual world.

It is not possible to halt the social media interruption for posts that might cause serious violence among people. The social media authorities of Facebook and Twitter have the right to remove anything which might harm their users.
