Recently the mega auctions for Indian Premier League 2022 took place, and some players bagged good fortune. The auction saw various teams’ highest bids like Ishan Kishan, Deepak Chahar, Shreyas Iyer, Rabada, etc. Here is the list of the highest bidding IPL players in IPL auction 2022.

During the first day of the IPL 2022 Super Auction, conducted in Bangalore on February 12, 2022, Indian wicket-keeper Ishan Kishan became one of the most high-priced purchases in the Indian Premier League ever. The Mumbai Indians won a price war to get back Ishan, a member of the Mumbai Indians club for the previous few years, and paid a hefty Rs 15.25 crore for him.

Deepak Chahar, an old member of Chennai Super Kings, was repurchased for Rs 14 crore, marking him as the second most valuable purchase at the 2022 bidding.

Shreyas Iyer, Harshal Patel, Hasaranga, and Nicholas Pooran

Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer, all-rounder Harshal Patel, Wanindu Hasaranga, and wicketkeeper Nicholas Pooran were among the highest-priced purchases during the IPL 2022 bidding.

Shreyas was the first player to break the Rs 10 crore barrier, having been purchased by Kolkata Knight Riders worth Rs 12.25 crore.

Royal Challengers Bangalore subsequently acquired Patel for Rs 10.75 crore and returned Hasaranga for the same sum.

Pooran was also bought for Rs 10.75 crore by Sunrisers Hyderabad, who already paid Rs 8.75 crore for Indian cricketer Washington Sundar.

  • Krunal Pandya, Nitish Rana, Rabada, and Shikhar Dhawan

Krunal Pandya was traded to entrants Lucknow SuperGiants for Rs 8.25 crore, whereas Nitish Rana was acquired again by Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 8 crore. 

Kagiso Rabada, a South African bowler, was purchased for Rs 9.25 crore by Punjab Kings, who also bought Shikhar Dhawan for Rs 8.25 crore. 


These were some of the highest bidding IPL players. Accordingly, Jason Holder, and Shimron Hetmyer, both of the West Indies, were also purchased for a lot of money by the Lucknow SuperGiants and Rajasthan Royals. 

Although most players found owners, several went unsigned, such as Indian Cricket batsman Suresh Raina. On the other hand, Unpurchased individuals may rejoin for subsequent express bidding later.
