Due to a dip in covid cases in India, the Supreme Court has announced that it will begin in-person hearings from September 1. On Mondays and Fridays, the hearing will be virtual, as they are admission days. On the rest of the days, as per sources, the hearings will be both physical and virtual. The court started practicing hybrid mode in March this year. But in a month, things went back to virtual mode. It’s nearly been a year since physical hearings were discontinued due to COVID-19.
Supreme Court To Hold In-Person Hearing From September 1
The Supreme Court will take no chances and hold physical continuity every day. Seven days ago, the Chief Justice of India NV Ramana announced that the physical hearings have a possibility of resuming in some days. This decision was taken because there were many problems in virtual mode.
Nine new judges were appointed by the President of India today.

As of now, the Supreme Court has 10 vacancies and 34 judges. After the judges take oath in the following days, the Supreme Court will have only one vacancy. Formal notifications announcing the appointments were issued in the afternoon by the Ministry of Law.
