Who Is Parvati?

Parvati, the Hindu Goddess, is the beneficent side of mother Devi’s ultimate feminine form. She is known as the “daughter of the mountains” since she is the princess of the mountain King, Himawan, and queen Mena. She is Lord Shiva’s wife and the mother of the Hindu gods Ganesha and Murugan.

Parvati is also recognized as Uma and Gauri in Hinduism. She is the Goddess of devotion, fertility, marriage, children, and beauty in Hindu mythology. In Hinduism, Devi is the mother goddess, who carries the holy energy between a woman & a man.

The Hindu Goddess Parvati, like her husband Shiva, is an expert meditator. Parvati is nearly often shown as a permanent companion by Shiva’s side in statues.

Who Is Durga?

In Hinduism, Maa Durga, the Supreme Shakti, is worshiped with great reverence. She has a multi-dimensional disposition and is divine. She is a protector as well as a nurturer. Durga is revered as the Goddess of Might. Devotees worship Maa Durga’s nine incarnations during Navratri. She defeated the demon Mahisasura, so she’s also called Mahisasuramardini.

All the gods combined gave Durga a bodily form when she arose as a spirit from the sacred Ganga’s waters. Lord Shiva sculpted her face, while Indra sculpted her torso. Chandra created her breasts, while Brahma created her teeth. Bhudevi sculpted her lower body, Varuna created her knees and thighs, and Agni sculpted the Goddess’s eyes. As a result, she was an ultimate force produced by combining the abilities of all other gods. Goddess Durga, also known as ‘Mahamaya,’ is the Great Mother of the Cosmos, who is responsible for the creation, preservation, and eradication of evil forces throughout the universe.

Is Maa Parvati And Maa Durga Same?

To destroy the demon Mahishasura, Goddess Parvati assumed the form of Durga. Half-human, half-buffalo, the demon was a hybrid of the two. According to (Mahish+ Asura): Asura means ‘devil’ and Mahish means ‘buffalo’.

To satisfy Lord Brahma and obtain immortality, Mahishasura performed penance for a thousand years. After hearing his pleas, Lord Brahma arrived in front of him and granted him the blessing that no God or goddess, man, ghost, or demon would be able to kill him. As a result of receiving such a blessing, Mahishasura got arrogant and began taunting all living things and people on the planet. He took the Devalok and expelled Indra from his Swargaloka.

Then, one day, all the gods, sages, and hermits, among others, flocked to Lord Shiva to seek protection from the powerful monster. Because Mahishasura had the blessing that no male could kill him, but only a woman could, Lord Shiva and the other gods asked Goddess Parwati to slay the demon.

Goddess Parwati assumed the appearance of a Warrior lady, with 10 hands and various weapons in each, a Lion as her mount, and three eyes, and approached the demon Mahishasura, who mocked her, believing that a woman couldn’t slay him.

Goddess Durga became enraged and engaged Mahishasura in furious combat. The struggle continued for nine days until Goddess Durga destroyed the monster with her trident on the tenth day. She is a symbol of women’s empowerment. So, based on the entire tale, Goddess Durga is just another incarnation of Goddess Parwati.

What’s more, rivers of tears began to fall from those tears. The Gods who had been hiding in the mountain caverns had now emerged. The sages then proceeded to worship and sing songs to the Goddess, joined with the Gods.

Shatakshi Devi then turned into a lovely Goddess with eight hands carrying fruits, vegetables, grains, cereals, greens, meat, and other herbs, as well as a gorgeous robe.
