Israel and Palestine have always been on conflicting sides, and the long-term peace has been disrupted when Israeli police opened fire in one of the holiest mosques of Jerusalem. The Israeli police cut the cables of religious prayers of Ramadan from the four medieval minarets on April 13th. It was Memorial Day in Israel and the last day of Ramadan. Israeli police assumed that the prayers would drown the words about Israeli martyrs. In hindsight, the raid on the mosque was one worst thing that Israeli police could do. This Israeli airstrike spawned hatred between the two states.
Events Leading Up To The Israeli Airstrike
A new generation of the Palestinian movement started to expand its vision and assert its own goals and objectives. Israel accused the Hamas group to promote terrorism. Hamas did flex its muscle over the ideas of the new generation. This led to political unrest and it was assumed that Israelis are trying to push away Palestinians from Jerusalem and Gaza.
The Gaza Health Ministry has stated that the total death toll in Gaza City has increased to 33 civilians. 12 women and 8 children were also killed during this scuffle as well. In the past, the Israeli military had destroyed the home of Hamas leaders. Forced eviction of Palestinians from their homes has been occurring for quite a long time now. The conflict has raised voices against Israel for the last few days since civilians face death due to this illogical conflict between two governmental authorities.
The Death Toll Of Civilians Till Now
It has been seen that over 181 civilians of Palestine are dead by now, which includes about 52 children. What raises questions here is this state-funded genocide necessary for the benefit of either nation? The latest round of violence has led to the eviction of more than 10,000 people. Malki, the Palestinian Foreign Minister, has made it quite clear that Jerusalem will not be a place to conduct misdemeanours of Israeli police or military through the Israeli airstrike.
The Question Raised By Several Countries
Different organizations worldwide have questioned Israel’s right to attack people who were congregating for peaceful religious meetings. Collective punishment of the Palestinian population by the Israeli military has been brought to light by organizations like Amnesty International. The US has also been slammed because of its silent support towards Israel in this mindless war.
