Why Lakshmi And Ganesh Are Worshipped Together?

The tale of Lakshmi and Ganesh being worshipped together starts from the legend that once, Goddess Lakshmi was being egotistical with all the great blessings she can grant people to make them successful.

Hearing this, Lord Vishnu chided her saying a woman who hasn’t experienced motherhood cannot be that great. Goddess Lakshmi was truly disheartened and thus, she went to Goddess Parvati and requested her son, Ganesh, from her.

Goddess Parvati wasn’t so sure of it because Lakshmi is known for her frivolous nature. She worried that Goddess Lakshmi would not be able to take care of Lord Ganesh.

On this, Goddess Lakshmi promised to take good care of her son and said that Lord Ganesh will always be worshipped alongside her if someone wishes to be blessed by Lakshmi. Thus, this is the reason why Lakshmi and Ganesh are worshipped together.
