As the mythology says, Goddess Parvati and Mahadev from time immemorial were tied to each other spiritually. According to the Maa Brahmacharini story, Once Goddess Brahmacharini decided to marry Lord Shiva, but, when her parents learned about her decision, they tried to dissuade her. But, all in vain. She headed for the mountains and sat in meditation to impress the mighty Lord Shiva.
On the other hand, a demon named Tarkasura was creating devastation in heaven. The Gods approached Kamadeva and asked him to instill in Lord Shiva the feelings of love, lust, and desire to accept Mata Brahmacharini Or Parvati as his wife as the children born from the sacred duo will only be able to destroy Tarkasura.
On the other hand, Lord Shiva was aware of what was going to happen. So, when Kamadeva did as he was asked, Mahadev woke up from his meditation and destroyed Kamadeva. He then went to Mata Brahmacharini in disguise to test her love and dedication towards him.
Lord Shiva tried to discourage her from marrying Mahadev but Brahmacharini Mata was not even ready to lend an ear to what he had to say. Ultimately, pleased by her dedication, Mahadev accepted Brahmacharini Mata as his wife, and once again, the sacred duo was reunited! Their story teaches us the power of true love and dedication!
