How Maha Shivratri Is Celebrated?

Another legend suggests that Lord Shiva got married to his wife Parvati on this day. There is a significance of dance tradition that is associated with this occasion and has its roots in history. Hence, the day is celebrated with dance at major historical Hindu temples like Konark, Pattadakal, Chidambaram, Khajuraho, and many more.

The day is closely associated with Natya shastra performed in the Chidambaram temple which is Natyanjali and this means to worship through dance.
