The farmers have called for a nationwide protest on 26th October. They had already called for the Rail Roko protest after the incident at Lakhimpur Kheri. The Samyukta Kisan Morcha or SKM has given a call for protests all over the country at the headquarters and tehsil units between the hours of 11 am to 2 pm on Tuesday. The farmers have declared that this protest of theirs will be ending with a strong memorandum to the President of India. This will be submitted with the help of the district collectors and magistrates. The organization has also mentioned that they will be demanding the sacking and arrest of the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra Teni. He has been related to the violence in Lakhimpur Kheri. 11 months of farmers’ protest will be marked with another round of pan-Indian protests.

Ajay Mishra Issue Involved In The Marking Of 11 Months Of Farmers’ Protest

Ajay Mishra is still refusing any kind of involvement in the Lakhimpur Kheri case. It has been accused that his son was in one of the cars which had run over the protesting farmers. Ashish Mishra, the son of Ajay Mishra, had already been arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police after a probe by the Supreme Court. SKM has also mentioned that the Union Government has not allowed Darshan Singh Dhaliwal, an NRI who has also supported the farmers’ movement, to enter India. These issues will be included in the program marking the 11 months of farmers’ protest in India.

Awaiting Judgment

The 11 months of farmers’ protests will mark several important incidents in the history of India. It is to be seen whether the demands of the farmers will be fulfilled or not.
