Mulayam Singh Yadav was born on 22nd November 1939 in Saifai village of Etawah district in Uttar Pradesh. His parents are Murti Devi and Sughar Singh Yadav. In the Mulayam Singh Yadav family, among all 5 brothers, Mulayam Singh was the 3rd eldest sibling. He has three political science degrees in his name.
Regarding Mulayam Singh Yadav education, he did his BA from Karm Kshetra Post Graduate College in Etawah and then a BT from AK College in Shikohabad. Lastly, he earned his Master’s degree from BR College of Agra University. He was an agriculturist and teacher before coming into politics.

- He was the first defence minister to visit Siachen Glacier.
- He was the one who ordered the martyred soldiers’ mortal remains to be carried to their homes and with extreme respect. Before this, there was no such rule in the military.
