Subhash Chandra Bose was born on January 23rd, 1897 in Cuttack, Orissa, he was the 9th child of Janakinath Bose and Prabhavati Devi. His father was a prosperous and influential person in the region. He completed his early education at the Ravenshaw Collegiate School in Cuttack. In 1917, he graduated from presidency college Calcutta with first-class honours in philosophy (Bengali). He then went to England for higher studies at Fitzwilliam House at Cambridge University.
In 1921, Bose qualified for M.Sc. (Natural Science Tripos) but he could not take it up due to a lack of funds as his father had already spent a large amount of money on his studies so he had to return home.

On meeting with leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and others, Bose was motivated to join Indian National Congress. Soon after joining, he successfully organized a boycott movement along with Chitranjan Das and got arrested on Christmas, 1921. He was again jailed in Mandalay under the new Bengal Law in October 1924, later on, released after two and a half years due to ill health as he suffered from tuberculosis.
As per Subhash Chandra Bose history, he was active in politics during 1928-1937 and was arrested twice. His conflicts with the non-violent ideology of Gandhi banned him from Indian National Congress. The British government arrested Subhash Chandra Bose on 2nd July 1940, for inciting rebellion, which he managed to escape under disguise.
