The year 2021 has been a unique year to hold the Tokyo Olympics, 2020. There has been a record number of “firsts” for San Jose University. In the women’s water Polo, the team from the San Jose University managed to bag a medal for the first time. This has been the 32nd Olympics, and the second one which has been hosted by Tokyo, to see such innumerable first-time wins in the history of the Olympics.
The Water Polo team of the United States of America has won the unprecedented third consecutive gold medal in the event.

The Most Notable Player In Water Polo, Olympics 2020
The most notable player was Espar Llaquet. She was a two-time second-team All-America and two-time All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) player for the years 2014 and 2015, respectively, for San Jose State. She had also led the MPSF in the Water Polo conference nationally. As a freshman, she scored about 96 goals en route. She was also the only Spartan who scored 90 goals in more than one season, and she 94 goals in her sophomore year. She has represented Spain, and she continues to be the most notable player in the lot.
