It is a day of shame for India when the providers have refused to consume anything from 8 AM to 5 PM on Thursday. Some of the proceedings of this hunger strike have been mentioned below.

Farmers of Imphal and Delhi come together

The left-wing farmer’s party in Imphal has decided to extend their hand of solidarity with the farmers all over the country. They decided to observe a hunger strike on 6th April as a mark of respect to those who have died while fighting for the repealing of the Farm Bills. The farmers have extended their support to the Kisan Andolan which has gained its root at the National Capital, New Delhi. Different forms of protests are to be launched in various states which will show their support to the overall farmers’ unity in India.

The Farm Laws Causing Issues

The Farm bills which have been presented by Lok sabha have gravely disturbed the homely purchasing system of the farmers in India. The mandi system will be abolished if the new farm bill is passed as a law. The third-party tender that will moderate the buying and selling of farmers’ goods will belong to a private company. This means that the farmers will no longer gain the profit that is associated with the crops they grow.

The major issue with the farmers of India is that they do not receive adequate loans for carrying out the business of the smaller farms. Along with this, it is also very difficult for them to gain the rightful cost for their crops. When the farm bill is pressed on the suffering farmers along with these burdens, it becomes nearly impossible for them to earn a square meal a day.

The Protests In Delhi

The farmers of Haryana, Punjab, and West Uttar Pradesh began their protest on the border of Delhi. Many protesters have died due to pneumonia as well because of the chilling cold water used against them during winter. The hunger strike has been arranged as a symbol of protests against those who have refused to acknowledge the needs of the farmers on a public forum.

Various States Coming Together

Although the protests started in the borders of Delhi by three of the most affluent states. Most of the states are coming together to prevent the bills from becoming law in India. Many students’ foundations have also shown their support towards the Kisan Andolan. Right now, there is nothing to be done other than waiting to see the reaction of the Government on this hunger strike.
