The Plight Of Students Highlighted In Exam Cancellation Case

Given the dire situation of the COVID 19 pandemic, it has become almost impossible to get out of the house without getting an infection. Many of the families have suffered due to the covid-19 conditions and it has been found that many families have lost their loved ones in many parts of the country. Keeping these in mind, it has been very stressful for everyone to prepare for exams.

The students are also concerned that if they appear for the board exams, they may contract the disease and add to the rate of infection in the country. Keeping each of these factors in mind, about 300 students of the CBSE board have written to the Supreme Court judges for canceling their examinations or funding some alternative for the condition.

Proposal Of CBSE Board For The Exams

The CBSE board has proposed that the exams should be conducted between 15th July and 26th August for the results to be declared in September. In this way, the college admission process will also start in record time, as usual. Two options have been provided by the board in this case. CBSE has suggested that regular exams can be conducted for the 19 major subjects at the centres which are notified for examination. The other option remains that the shorter duration exams must be held in the schools in which the children are enrolled. These are the two options for the exam cancellation case.
