BJP had not been able to fare quite well in Tamil Nadu earlier as well. D Karthik is a youth from BJP. He contested the position of ward councilor in the elections of Periyanaickenpalayam union kurudampalayam panchayat ward number 9.

The defeat of the Tamil Nadu BJP man is more embarrassing than anyone could have expected it to be. His loss is extremely disappointing as Karthik has about five members in his family and none of them voted for him in the elections. Karthik has given an explanation in this matter though. He has mentioned that his family has given the votes in ward number 4.
That is why they could not vote for him. It is also true that the candidates who are contesting in the local body polls are not under any kind of political symbol. They are backed by the political parties and are known by their position as well. This creates another confusion about the stand of BJP in the political scenario of Tamil Nadu.
