It seems that Twitter will finally be complying with the new IT rules set up by the government. The social media platform had also decided to open a liaison office in Delhi. It will be done to establish a permanent address for the people in the country.

Demands Of Delhi High Court For Twitter

The Delhi High Court has also mentioned that the platform cannot evade complying with the new IT rules forever. A strict warning has also been served to get this social media to agree with the new rules and regulations designed by the government. It has also been mentioned that the social media platform may get into uncharted waters if the liaison grievance redressal officer is not appointed soon. There should not be any kind of delays in the laws as well.

Time till Thursday was provided to Twitter to specify the time frame within which they will be appointing a grievance officer. It has also been ordered by the Delhi High Court that this social media must be able to present the first compliance report by the 11th of July. Failure to comply with these terms might lead to some problems.

Twitter Finally Bows Down

Twitter has announced that they are already ready with their interim chief compliance officer. Two more executives will be added to the platform to make sure that the platform complies with the new IT rules. This social media has been reluctant to agree with the IT rules from the very beginning. It had cited several reasons for this disagreement. It seems that finally, after a long battle to question the legality of the new IT rules, Twitter has to bow down. It is a massive step back for the entire social media platform where it seems like no personal information will ever be guarded now!
