Sridevi was born on 13th August 1963 in Meenampatti, Madras State (Tamil Nadu) The real name of Sridevi is Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan 

At four, Sridevi started her career as a child artist in the Tamil film Kandhan Karunai in 1967.

In 1996, Sridevi married Boney Kapoor with whom she had two daughters, Janhvi and Khushi

In 2013, Sridevi was honoured with the Padma Shri for her contribution to the Indian culture through performing arts

She not only worked in the Hindi film industry but also in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada film industry too.

Sridevi featured in 92 Telugu films, 73 Tamil films, 72 Hindi films, 25 Malayalam films and 5 Kannada films. Throughout her career, she had done 271 films including cameo roles  

Sridevi is called the ‘First Female Superstar’ of Indian Cinema.
