Pakistan’s former Prime Minister, Imran Khan has been de-notified on Sunday after the deputy speaker of the parliament, Qasim Suri obstructed a no-confidence movement, passed by the opposition against him. The Deputy Speaker said that foreign powers were interfering with the democracy of the country. Qasim Suri refused to accept the debate and termed it “unconstitutional”. Prime Minister Imran Khan then advised the President of Pakistan, Arif Alvi to dissolve the assembly. The National Assembly had accordingly been dissolved only a few minutes afterward. A notice stating the de-notification of Imran Khan as the Prime Minister of Pakistan was soon released.
New Government will now be elected. Elections will be held within ninety days as per the government. In the interim, the opposition has called the move unlawful and has moved the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the deputy speaker’s choice.

Who Is The Prime Minister Currently?
Imran Khan has been de-notified as the prime minister of Pakistan after the dissolution of the Assembly. According to section 224 of the constitution of Pakistan, Imran Khan will continue to hold the position until a caretaker prime minister is appointed. The order by the president reads: “Mr. Imran Ahmad Khan Niazi, shall continue as Prime Minister till the appointment of caretaker Prime Minister, under Article 224 A (4) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.”
However, there is no clarity yet on the appointment of the caretaker Prime Minister now that the assembly has been dissolved.
Imran Khan On The No-Confidence Motion Against Him
Imran Khan has addressed the people of his country to inform them that he has advised the President of Pakistan to dissolve the Assembly. He requested that his countrymen should prepare for elections.
Imran Khan had claimed that the no-confidence motion passed against him is a part of a foreign conspiracy.
He has tweeted: “Isn’t it better for PDM to accept elections rather than being part of a foreign conspiracy for regime change; and indulging in blatant purchasing of loyalties thereby destroying our nation’s moral fiber?”
He further said that why is the opposition scared at the name of elections when they were so sure that they would have a majority and were shouting about it, in the parliament.
Opposition Take On What Is Happening In Pakistan
The opposition has moved the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the dissolution of the assembly. The opposition, Pakistan Peoples Party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari asked if the foreign conspiracy was to pass a no-confidence motion and hold an early electorate, then why did Imran Khan support this conspiracy? That too by unconstitutionally dissolving the parliament. He tweeted this in reply to the tweet from Imran Khan.
Chief Justice Of Pakistan On What Is Happening In Pakistan
While hearing a plea on the disintegration of the country’s National Assembly, Pakistan’s Chief Justice, Umar Ata Bandial said on Sunday that all orders and activities started by Prime Minister, Imran Khan and President, Arif Alvi are dependent upon the direct orders of Pakistan’s Supreme Court. A panel headed by the Chief Justice on Sunday dismissed the case for one day.
Pakistan’s Supreme Court hosts requested all electoral parties to try not to go to any illegal lengths until the court conveys a decision on the matter of President Arif Alvi’s choice to dissolve the National Assembly on the exhortation of PM Imran Khan.
