Congress leader of Punjab, Navjot Siddhu along with his supporters had been detained when they were on their way to the Lakhimpur Kheri district. The incident of farmers’ death in the Lakhimpur Kheri district has taken over the entire nation. Four farmers were killed after they were run over by the car of the Union Minister.
Almost 150 members of Congress were visiting the district when the Uttar Pradesh police stopped them in their stride. They were detained from the border of Haryana. According to the news, they have been detained in the Sarsawan police station for now. Navjot Siddhu had shared images of himself and his followers on Twitter earlier.
A video was also recorded on the bus in which Siddhu and his supporters were traveling. The one who was recording the video was heard criticizing the Uttar Pradesh Government in strong words. They were stopped from going to the Lakhimpur Kheri district without any warning.
The Incident In Lakhimpur Kheri District
Eight people had lost their lives in the event that took place in the Lakhimpur Kheri district. Out of them, it has been accused that four farmers lost their lives when the SUV of the Union Minister ran them over. It has also been added that the farmers were simply on the streets to protest against the controversial farm laws.
