We all remember Muhammed Ali as a super boxer of his time who had a fist of death to face his competitors. But long before Muhammed Ali became his boxing persona, he was just a little boy named Cassius Clay who was afraid to dream big. His story will leave you in a state of wonder as you go on reading about it.
The Bicycle Thief
12 years old Cassius Clay learned boxing in order to teach a lesson to a thief who stole his bicycle. In a fair at Columbia Gym, his pride and joy, a red and white Schwinn bicycle, was stolen. Clay was mad with anger when he realized that his prized possession was stolen and he vowed that he would whoop the thief who stole his bicycle.
This angry outburst of Muhammed Ali attracted the attention of a local police officer, Joe Martin. Martin asked Ali to come to boxing classes at his gym so that he gains control over his anger. One could say that Martin is the person who granted Ali his wings which flew him to success in the coming days.
