National Film Awards are a matter of great importance when it comes to the world of Indian cinemas. This event is organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. It is to honor the best of the talents from across various film industries in the country including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Marathi among others. It might not be possible to cover up every single winner this year but we will definitely go through the ones which have stolen the show. Let us see the awards from the 67th National Film Awards
Best Feature Film
The best feature film award went to Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham. No one can debate the eligibility of this movie for the award. Although it had served the nationalist agenda of showing naval defense of the country, it is one of the best films of the year.
Best Hindi Film
Chhichhore which starred the late Sushant Singh Rajput was decided to be awarded the best Hindi film award. It has already stirred up debate as it has been a good movie but has been able to surpass the other masterpieces released this year? Or was it to continue the controversy of Sushant Singh Rajput?
Best Actor (Male)
The award for the best actor has been won by Manoj Bajpayee (Bhosle) and Dhanush (Asuran). It has to be said here that it has been the best and most deserved award of this year. No one can deny the nearly perfect performance of Manoj Bajpayee in Bhosle and Dhanush as been as extraordinary as he is always in Asuran.
Best Actor (Female)
One of the most questionable National Film awards which have been given away this year, the best female actor award for Kangana Ranaut (Manikarnika and Panga) is probably the most debatable one. No one denies the acting skills of the Queen of Controversy but is it true that there had been no one other than Kangana Ranaut who could have been awarded this award?
Best Screenplay Awards
The best screenplay awards for the 67th National Film Awards have been given to two Bengali films. Best Screenplay for the Original genre has been given to Jyeshtha Putro directed by Kaushik Ganguly. It has also received the best soundtrack award by Prabudhha Bannerjee. The Best Screenplay for Adapted stories was bagged by Gumnami, directed by Srijit Mukherjee.
Conclusion On National Film Awards
Several other movies like Holy Rites, Ladli, and Anandi Gopal have made a mark in the National awards as well. The first two were given for national awareness and Anandi Gopal was won for Social issues portrayal. Even Jallikattu won an award for best cinematography. Overall, National Film Awards stirred up controversies but prestige has been maintained to a good extent.
