The story follows a young boy who has been entrusted to write an essay about the magnificence of rain and how it is preceded by a traumatic situation of transition.

This beautiful yet hard-hitting short film depicted migrant worker’s hardships – but from the perspective of a child – long before the pandemic brought the harsh reality of migrant workers to light.

3) Thoovana Thumbigal (Tamil) 

During the initial phase of the lockdown in Thoovana Thumbigal, two people become friends. They exchange uninhibited smiles and songs and find themselves in the throes of a blooming friendship. The story takes the tried-and-true man-woman connection and gives it a new twist.

Inability to embrace romance and intimacy in a society where blended families and small accommodations are still the mainstream. This all-too-common issue is beautifully reflected in this short film with a touch of humour.

Mozhi is on the top of the list of short films to watch. A singer develops feelings for a girl who is deaf and hard of speech. He befriends her and, the two quickly establish a good bond, but she declines his wedding proposal.
