Goddess Siddhidatri is said to be one of the most glorious forms of Goddess Durga, she wears a red coloured saree and rides a lion. Devi Siddhidatri has four hands, two of her hands hold a lotus and shankha while the other two carry a chakra and a bludgeon. Goddess Siddhidatri is known as the goddess of accomplishment who blesses her children with perfection.
The universe was nothing but darkness and void, and there was not a single sign of life. This is when Goddess Kushmanda created the universe field with light with her smile. Goddess Kushmanda created Trimurtu of Lord Brahma- the energy of creation, Lord Vishnu- the energy of subsistence and Lord Shiva- the energy of destruction.
Lord Shiva asked Goddess Kushmanda for perfection and then she created a Goddess who bestowed Lord Shiva with eighteen different kinds of perfection including Ashta Siddhi ( eight primary siddhis ) along with ten secondary forms. The goddess who bestowed these perfections to Lord Shiva was Maa Siddhidatri. Larter when Lord Brahma asked for her help as he had to create the rest of the Universe and needed a man and a woman for the purpose, Devi Siddhidatri converted half of the Lord Shiva’s body into women and thus he is known as Ardhanarishwar and Goddess Siddhidatri appeared from his left half.
