India’s spiritual leader, Swami Vivekananda, breathed his last on July 4th, 1902. He was just 39 years old at that time and he was the founder of the Belur Math in West Bengal. He was hailed as the Dhyana Sidha and was inspired by his guru Ramkrishna Paramhansa. Vivekananda Swami was born with the name Narendranth Dutta in a very affluent family of Kolkata. He devoted his life to the cause of nationalism and spiritualism and laid stress on the power of meditation. He was recognized internationally because of the work he had done for the development of Hinduism.

Contributions Of Swami Vivekananda
Swami Vivekananda brought the Indian culture closer to the Western people and made sure that the West accepted Indian culture and traditions. The immense acceptance and popularity of Vivekananda Swami in the West allowed Indians to gain more acceptance in the foreign culture. He appealed to a great number of Americans when he visited the USA to speak about Hinduism at an international conference. He was very well-known for the austere life he led, and he created space for everyone to receive the education that they deserve.
Swami Vivekananda had suffered from different types of diseases during his lifetime and this was mostly because he led a very difficult life. He had suffered from several ailments during the short span of his life and finally succumbed to them at the age of 39. On his death anniversary this year, many leaders have paid their respect and tributes to this great man.

Home Minister Amit Shah has said on various occasions that Vivekananda Swami had been synonymous with true Indian culture and infinite knowledge. He had wished for the upliftment of mankind and held up the true ideology of Indians. He made sure that the world knew about the true philosophy of India.
