Who is Deendayal Upadhyay?
Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay was an Indian politician and the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party in its initial days. He joined RSS in the year 1937 and later on, after his training in RSS, he continued to be the preacher of the Jan Sangh which is now known as the BJP. In December 1967, Pandit Deendayal became president of the Jan Sangh.
In that Calicut session, his presidential speech focused on multiple aspects of the government’s coalition formation. Although no major events took place during his tenure as the president, due to his untimely death, it came to an end abruptly after 2 months in February 1968.
About Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay: Early Life And Education
He was born on 25th September 1916 in a Brahmin family in present-day Deendayal Dham of Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. He was brought up by his maternal uncle and attended high school in Sikar. He did his intermediate study in Pilani, Rajasthan.
Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay then graduated in Arts from Sanatan Dharma College, Kanpur. He wished to do his masters as well and for that, he moved to Agra and joined St. John’s College but due to family and financial issues, he couldn’t complete it.

He has worked as a journalist in a daily, ‘Rashtra Dharma’ and wrote columns for a weekly, The Organiser’.
After meeting the founder of RSS, K. B. Hedgewar, he underwent a 40-day training vacation at a Nagpur camp of RSS. He was also regarded as the ideal swayamsevak of RSS for his pure ideologies that drove Sangh’s mission and vision, being the moral inspiration.

1. Integral humanism

He believes that the economic prosperity index alone cannot be a measure to deduce the happiness of the citizens.
2. Bharat
Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay wanted an Indian political ideology free from western influence.
