Australian Plans Backfire Against Smriti Mandhana

It seems that the decision of Australia to field first after laying a green strip did not go as well as expected. Smriti Mandhana managed to be very aggressive in her shots and yet maintained a humility that was required for a true Indian player. The role reversal in the game confused the Australians completely. They had imagined that the younger Verma would take up a stronger and more aggressive play against them.

However, senior Smriti Mandhana played at a more aggressive rate and made sure that India was in a great position in the game. Darcie Brown was the first player who got hit off by Mandhana as she shot several of the balls bowled by Brown to the boundaries.
