The Delta Plus variant has already started to create a certain sense of worry among Indians because of its rate and extent of infection. India has just started to recover from the second wave of coronavirus. The vaccination process has been ramped up so that the nation can return to normal life soon. It has been announced by the Health Ministry that one cannot afford to let their guard down at the moment because new variants are developing every day. It has been said that this variant can turn out to be stronger than the previous strains. It may also defeat the vaccines which have been developed till now.
Impact Of Covishield And Covaxin On The New Strain
It had been announced until now by the Union Health Ministry that Covishield and Covaxin both are effective against the virus. The two vaccines which have been developed indigenously were said to be effective against the Delta Plus variant of the virus as well. However, the extent to which these vaccines are effective against the new strain is not quite clear yet. It is being said that the person who has been inoculated by either of these two vaccines might be affected by the Delta strain, but the effects will be lower than usual. Research is being conducted in order to find the effectiveness of both these vaccines against the new strain.

Sputnik V Against Delta Plus Variant
The Sputnik V vaccines which have been imported from Russia have proved to be effective against all kinds of virus strains. This includes the original UK strain and the Delta Plus variant which has developed in certain parts of India. Kerala and Maharashtra are the two states which are showing the maximum number of variants of the virus. This is quite concerning because the Sputnik V vaccine is not in abundance.
