One of the major hospitality, wellness, and sustainability brands, Six Senses is making its foray into the Indian market. By sensitively renovating a 14th-century castle in Ranthambore into a new luxury hotel that is opening on Saturday, October 16, Six Senses have set a new standard in hospitality. Neil Jacobs has said that he has even bigger plans for the country. He has also said that he plans on having 5-6 Six Senses properties in India in the next decade, and the most probable locations are Delhi and Mumbai.
Jacobs further said that the Six Senses Fort Barwara, which is in Ranthambore, is the first of its kind in India. He said that this property has set the bar quite high for future properties in the country and that the fort has been restored.
A Lot Cheaper To Build From The Ground Up
Jacobs agreed that it’s easier and cheaper to build a building from the ground up. Jacob’s global career consisted of leadership roles at Starwood Capital Group and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
The Pandemic Effect
The launching time coincides with the pandemic and more people are traveling within their country than before as there are a lot of restrictions on international trips. In the US and Asia, the market for domestic travel is quite buoyant. More domestic travelers are being seen every day. Jacobs said that in India, finding the right location is the most important. Six Senses is willing to take over the hotels that are already existing, have a magical quality, and are located in a good place. In Mumbai, it’s likely to be built from the ground up. In Delhi, they will look for the right property. Jacobs said that they are open to all kinds of opportunities.

Six Senses Properties In India – The Fort Barwara
30 minutes away from the Tiger Reserve, The Six Senses Fort Barwara will be open to guests starting October 16. The original fort of Barwara was created in the 14th century by the Chauhans. The restoration of the 700-year-old fort took more than 10 years, encompassing two palaces and many temples within the walled fort.
Now, it has been converted into a luxury hotel and has forty-eight one-bedroom suites which are designed in a contemporary Rajasthani style. The resort contains three restaurants with a bar and lounge, along with a spa, a fitness center, two swimming pools, banquet areas, a children’s club, and a lifestyle boutique.
It’s safe to trust Six Senses when it comes to luxury after seeing the renovated Six Senses Fort Barwara. There is a need for more hospitality and sustainability in India and it seems like Six Senses properties in India has identified the growth spurts in this sector.
