A recent ad that has been promoted by Aamir Khan has caused some unrest among the Hindus of India. The Aamir Khan ad which had been for the promotion of CEAT tires asked the people to refrain from bursting firecrackers during the celebration of Diwali. He has specifically mentioned in the ad that people should not burst crackers on the streets. One of the BJP MPs did not leave the opportunity to make this an issue about the Hindu sentiments. He has raised a few objections against the ad, and it seems that many people agree with him.
Questions Raised On Aamir Khan Ad
MP Anantkumar Hegde has applauded the efforts that have been taken up by the company to educate the people about the negative effects of bursting firecrackers. At the same time, he has mentioned that the Aamir Khan ad should be progressive enough to include the issues which are caused by the Namaz and the noise which is emitted from the mosques during the period of Azaan.
Hegde has mentioned that both of these events are extremely problematic and the company must be progressive enough to address them if it truly calls itself secular.
Issues Of Namaz And Azaan
Hegde has mentioned that when people gather on the roads to pray during Namaz, there are terrible traffic jams. He has added that this kind of problem had led to obstruction of ambulances in the past. He has also mentioned the issue of Azaan and mentioned that it was way too loud. In fact, the use of mics in order to deliver the sound of Azaan is way over the decibel standards that must be allowed. Hegde has mentioned that if the Aamir Khan ad can target a Hindu festival like Diwali, it should be able to question the Muslim traditions as well.
