Independence day holds a huge amount of importance for the people of India, and it is definitely one of the most important days of nationalist feelings. The entire year has been focused on the covid norms, and the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi seemed to remove all destitution faced by the people right now. Before the speech, PM Modi hoisted the Indian flag with full pride.
Points Of Admiration
The prime minister has announced the launching of 75 Vande Bharat Trains to celebrate our freedom from the British rulers for the last 75 years. As the PM has mentioned, several lives have brought the nation’s freedom, and this sacrifice is to be respected by all countrymen. He has also hailed the medical workers of India who have been responsible for the rapid vaccination drive in the nation as well.
On the other hand, the 88 minutes speech had nothing about the common Indians’ difficulties throughout the year. It seems that the government wishes to celebrate only “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” this time.
Refusing To Acknowledge The Hardships
There have been many questions about the freedom of the country at this moment. The prime minister did not seem to address any of the issues faced by the common people about expressing their own thoughts and those who voice the words of dissent.

As the tricolor unfurled, there was no note of the fallacies made by the government or the promise to overcome these issues. The speech mostly covered up the struggle made by the Indian freedom fighters during British rule.
Errors In The Speech
In addition to this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi quoted that Matangini Hazra belonged to Assam. This grossly wrong statement angered several Bengalis as Matangini Hazra was a freedom fighter of undivided Bengal.
This error could not be covered up with the words of 75 Vande Bharat Trains connecting different parts of the nation.
