Good morning all and one present here. I feel obliged and fortunate enough to speak about the former Prime Minister of Independent India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Born on 14th November in Allahabad in the year 1889, he was loved by the younger children and known as Chacha Nehru. Soon after he completed his studies at Cambridge University, he was married to Smt. Kamla Devi. Later, they were blessed with a daughter, Indira.
Though he was a follower of peace and brotherhood he joined the Non-Cooperation movement after witnessing the plight of Indians during the British Raj. Soon after India gained independence, Pandit Nehru was elected as the first Prime Minister of Independent India, keeping in mind his important role in India’s freedom struggle. Though he died decades ago in 1964, Chacha Nehru still remains in the heart of Indians for his glorious achievements and selfless sacrifice towards the nation!

Apart from being a great figure in India’s independence, he was also a great writer who wrote, “Discovery of India”, and “Glimpses of World History”.
