Sensitive user information can also be divulged by Facebook to the government if the authorities think that the users are not abiding by their “code of conduct” on the online platform.
The administration of India is trying its best to exert maximum control over the users. This has some definite global effect since social media platforms have a reach around the world. Authoritarian regimes usually impose the kind of laws that have been brought on by the government of India. The Union Technical authorities have informed that the step has been taken to protect the common users of social media platforms, but this is not fooling anyone. It is wrong for a government to impose laws that infringe on the personal space of individuals in the name of domestic security.
