On August 25, Wednesday, Kerala recorded 31,445 cases. This was the highest number of Covid cases since May 20. The last time cases in Kerala reached the 30,000 mark was on the 20th of May, reporting 30,491 cases. This rapid increase in Covid cases is speculated to have arisen from loose Covid regulations during Onam celebrations. It’s a matter of concern that India’s total count of cases is nearly equal to Kerala’s count alone.
Health Minister Veena George informed the media that an extensive testing program is going to be conducted to detect all the cases as soon as possible and reduce the further spread of the virus.
