It has been reported that the Zydus Cadila’s vaccine with the characteristic of three-dose COVID-19 DNA has finally been approved by the Indian Drug Regulation body. The vaccine can be used for anyone above the age of 12 years. This is the sixth vaccine that is to be used in India. The company has informed that they will be manufacturing about 100 million to 120 million doses of the vaccine in order to keep a stock for times of emergency.
Efficacy Of Zydus Cadila’s Vaccine
It has been announced that the efficacy of the Zydus Cadila’s vaccine is about 66% and it has already been tested in about 28,000 volunteers throughout the country. This seems like a good step towards the inoculation of the children of the nation.

ZyKoV-D is the very first vaccine in the world that has been developed through the plasmid DNA method. The vaccine has made use of the genetic material which has been derived from the virus. The genetic material can be either DNA or RNA-based. This is later used in order to create a specific type of protein that is recognized by the immune system.
