When lord Brahma decided to create the universe, he sought the help of Saraswati to compose hymns to praise the newly formed universe. Saraswati agreed with lord Brahma and was ready to help him. They together started making the universe. As a result, Rigveda, the oldest sacred text in Hinduism, was composed.

While making the universe lord Brahma got strongly attracted to Saraswati due to her remarkable beauty and wisdom, and started making inappropriate advances towards her.
