The farmers of India have been sitting at the border of Delhi since November 2020. They had asked for the fulfillment of their demands of repealing the farm laws, as they might take away the livelihood of several farmers across the country. The government has organized several talks with the leaders of the farmers’ unions but the issue has been at a deadlock even now. Farmers have refused to quit their agitation unless their demands are met by the government.
Their agitation completed 300 days on 22nd September 2021. The Samyukt Kisan Morcha has called out for a Bharat Bandh on 27th September to force the government into agreeing to their demands.

Samyukt Kisan Morcha Calling For Bharat Bandh
40 farmers’ organizations have given the call for Bharat Bandh under the umbrella organization of Samyukt Kisan Morcha. The protestors have stated that this is going to make their protests even stronger. They have also mentioned that there are different sections of the society that have joined the farmers in their agitation. SKM has hoped that their strike will be made a success by most of the people across the nation.
The farmers have also declared that their agitation has now become a movement to protect the democracy of India in solidarity with other people of the nation as well!
Organizations Extend Support To The Farmers
The farmers have not moved from their demands of having the farm laws repealed. These laws had been passed last September. Most of the organizations like the All India Bank Officers’ Confederation and many trade unions have extended their support to the farmers in their struggle.

Several women’s organizations have also come together in support of the bandh over the last few days. It seems that with the combined efforts of different organizations across the nation, the Bharat Bandh is likely to be successful.
