Bench’s Decision About Girls’ Admission In National Defence Academy
Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul had been the presiding judge over the bench in this issue. Additional Solicitor General, Aishwarya Bhati, had been representing the government in this matter. Justice Kaul has informed that the decision has been taken by the higher authorities to allow women into the National Defence Academy from now. This decision has been supported by the three chiefs of the Armed Forces of India as well. Armed forces have always been the most respected segment within the country. However, Justice Kaul had observed that the forces have several milestones to reach yet in terms of gender equality.
Aishwarya Bhati has applauded the decision and has mentioned that this will be a path-breaking and historic reform in the Armed Forces of India. The justice bench had been extremely glad to know that this decision about the inclusion of women had not been forced by any governmental or non-governmental agency. In fact, the Armed forces themselves have decided that it is time to include female fighters in the National Defence Academy. An affidavit will be filed soon in order to allow the admission of the girls into NDA.
