The 20-year war waged by America against Afghanistan finally came to an end when the last American soldier, Major General Chris Donahue, left the Taliban-occupied land. The deadline set by Joe Biden for the evacuation of the US troops and citizens was till 31st August midnight. A giant C-17 transport that was laden with the US troops and ambassadors finally left the Kabul airport before midnight. The US troops have now officially left the land of Afghanistan, leaving the people at the mercy of the Taliban forces.

Celebratory Gunfire At The Exit Of The Last American Soldier

The Kabul airport experienced loud and celebratory gunfire when the US troops finally left Afghanistan. This portrays the amount of hatred that the Taliban forces held for the Americans and how happy they are to get rid of them finally. It has been informed that Chris Donahue was in the last plane which left Kabul airport with Americans. The Major General was accompanied by ambassador Ross Wilson.

The US army has shared an image of the American soldier which was taken through the night-vision optics cameras. The final evacuation of Kabul was finally over when the US troops moved into their respective aircraft. It has been reported that Donahue was a former student of the United States Military Academy. He was sent to Afghanistan this year in order to help the US troops return to their lands.

Marking The End Of An Era

The removal of the US troops marks a special turn in the series of wars that have been waged in Afghanistan. None of the countries want to leave their citizens in the nation which has been completely occupied by the Taliban forces. The brutality of the forces can be assumed from the fact that they celebrated the leaving of troops with gunfire shots. It is indeed a sad day for the world as the Afghans are now left to fend for themselves.
