According to the news which has been received from Tripura till now, 5 media houses and 2 CPM offices have been torched down by miscreants on 8th September. The media houses like PB 24, Kalmer Shakti, Daily Desharkatha, Pratibadi Kalam, and Duranta TV have been ransacked by the vandals. It has been speculated that the miscreants belonged to an unauthorized rally that had the support of the ruling party, BJP. Further investigations are being conducted in this matter as the case proceeds. The offices attacked in Tripura are known for being the voice of dissent in the BJP-ruled state.

BJP State Vice President Rajib Bhattacharjee Involved

The rally was presided by the BJP Vice President for Tripura, Rajib Bhattacharjee, and he was assisted by the two secretaries, Tinku Roy and Papia Dutta. The police force has informed that they are checking the CCTV footage as of now in order to find more concrete details about the offices attacked in Tripura. 

The sub-divisional police officer Ramesh Yadav has informed that BJP was refused permission to hold the rally. This refusal to provide the permit was based on issues of law and order. Even with these bans on the rally, BJP had been able to create ruckus in the media houses.

12 Hours To Find People Responsible For The Offices Attacked In Tripura

The media houses have given just 12 hours to the police in order to find the miscreants who have taken part in these activities. This deadline was given with the warning that failure to arrest the vandals might lead the media houses to take to the streets. Duranta TV is one of the major media houses which have been torched down by the supporters of BJP in Gomati. The hooligans have also restricted the file tenders from reaching their spot and have made baseless allegations against the editor, Ayub Sarkar.

Despite the repeated demands, not much information could be gathered from the officers handling the case of offices attacked in Tripura. CPM has retaliated by bringing out their own rally in protest.
