The Supreme Court has strictly asked the Central Government not to disclose anything about the Pegasus software which might compromise national security. The Supreme Court has not entertained the requests to investigate the matter independently. This indicates that the highest judicial body of the nation does not want the investigation to be disclosed to everyone at this moment. The reason stated for such reluctance to share data is national security. The bench which has been set up by Chief Justice NV Ramana has asked for an immediate reply by the Central Government on this matter. The bench has stated that they will decide the right approach to probe the issue after 10 days.
Cases Against Use Of Pegasus Software By Government
The cases which have been filed through the public interest litigation against the Pegasus software have mostly been revolving around the fact that the government might be snooping into the day-to-day affairs of several opposition leaders, journalists, and activists. Hence, the data of the investigation must be made public so that people can access it easily.
