Yasin Malik, Separatist Leader Of Jammu Found To Have Terrorist Links

One of the separatist leaders of Kashmir was sentenced to jail by the Delhi Court. Yasin Malik who is 56 years old and chief of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front has been ordered to jail because of terrorist connections. It has been decided by the court that Yasin Malik was associated with the terror activities which took place in the Kashmir valley in 2017. 

Yasin Malik Found To Be Guilty By Delhi Court

Yasin had pleaded guilty to his crimes and has been sentenced to jail for a week as of now. Later sentences will be brought into question later. He has also been accused of funding terrorist organizations as well. Yasin Malik was quite a popular leader among the separatists in Jammu and Kashmir. 

Charges Brought Against Yasin Malik

Yasin Malik was arrested under the charges of UAPA. He had to plead guilty as his crimes were investigated by Jammu and Kashmir police. He was framed in accusations in the month of March. He had also mentioned during the case proceedings that he will not be appealing against any of the charges which have been brought against him. 

It had been mentioned that Yasin Malik had a link with the Pakistani terrorist group, Lashkar e Tauba. This was proven in the court as well. 

Process Of Investigation

The National Investigation Agency had started to investigate the case of Yasin Malik in 2017 itself. It took several years to find the right kind of evidence that could incriminate Yasin Malik in a court of law. The details which were found about Malik were quite shocking. He had close connections with the Pakistani terror groups. 

In his ideology of separation, he had supported these terror groups to a major extent. A charge sheet was made which included 12 other people along with Yasin Malik.
